I had a fast graphics challenge with a friend of mine last weekend with the theme “carnivorous plant”. This is what I came up after about one hour of modeling and rendering in 3ds max and one hour of compositing and touching up in Photoshop.
Okay, maybe it’s time for some photos then. These three pics are from my first rolls of film I’ve shot with the lovely Holga. I have a few rolls more ready for development already and I’ll pop by a lab when my vacation starts next week to get them done. So there’ll definitely be more of these posted here in the near future.
These are from last fall and they are shot with my Canon EOS 5D, using mainly the 24-105mm f/4 IS L IIRC but then again: who gives a damn anymore when you own a Holga?
Okay, to get things going I need some filler material so it won’t feel so desolate here (and to stress test the layout etc.) so I’m going to post some recent-ish stuff I’ve done. Here are some sloppy sketches. Some of the pages were done for gfx-foorumi‘s challenges although I didn’t manage to complete enough sketches in time. Also, I’m test driving a plugin for displaying images which should offer back/forward navigation and it should resize automatically to your screen size if the images are too large etc. I’d like to know if you bump into any problems with it.
Okay, this is my first post on my blog. And I still feel kinda dirty using the word blog but seems like I have to get used to it.. Anyways, I decided to move onto using a blog from the old gallery system because I didn’t really feel like managing it all the time by deleting old or unfinished stuff there to keep the impression of “quality” up. Or the problem wasn’t really with managing the old stuff but instead it was just hard for an occasional visitor to find the most recent, relevant or interesting stuff there. It just got out of hand. Probably some day I’ll make a new gallery but then it’ll be more of a portfolio or a showcase with maybe a dozen or so images instead of the horrible gangrenous lump my old one turned in to.
With blog it’s really a no brainer to bump into the most recent stuff and at the same time there are a few extra goodies like RSS feeds for stalkers and commenting for people who want to sell Viagra knock-offs.
What you’ll find posted on this blog will mostly consist of my photography and computer graphics (2D/3D) and a bit of traditional media too (well, mainly limited to pencil sketches for now I guess). If you want to know who I am, you can check the about page.
